The Recycling Challenge

The advent of “fast fashion” has created a culture of “disposable” clothing in Britain!

Indeed, 75% of consumers admit to binning their discarded garments, usually because they do not realise that previously worn clothes can be recycled or accepted by charities and hospices, a recent survey of 2,000 people has found that consumers are expected to get rid of 680 million pieces of clothing as they spring-clean their wardrobes. However, the annual fashion detox will be damaging for the environment, with a staggering 235m of the garments expected to end up in landfill. People will dispose of an average of 19 items, with seven going straight in the bin.

Over the past 10 years, clothing has been the fastest growing waste stream in the UK. There is an urgent need for consumers to donate unwanted clothes to charities and Hospices.

We at RGN Textiles are committed to responsible recycling and reducing the impact of textile waste on the environment.

Our Coverage

We currently operate from three strategically located sites in the UK.

With RGN Textiles as your partner… You are sure to succeed!

Operations

RGN Textiles operate a fleet of long wheel base vans that are under 3 years old. Our fleet is sign written and fully tracked. We also have a back up fleet in operation to ensure we deliver what we promise. This enables consistent, on time collections. Optimising our routes and capacity capabilities has helped us to reduce our carbon footprint together.

Drivers

RGN Textiles Driver’s are fluent in English, fully trained on not only how to service charity shops but how to exceed customer expectations. Our driver’s can be identified by their ID badge and uniform.

Collection Process

All shops are allocated a collection day and for larger shops, multiple collection days. Drivers will arrive at the shops, address the shop manager and staff, then begin our collection process. This starts by fully weighing all of the stock across the eleven categories that we collect. The stock is then loaded into the van and a receipt/docket is issued for the stock taken and payment is made accordingly.

The proof of what we do is in our exceptional track record in the Charity & Hospice retail sector, together with our exceptional customer retention.

The only way to understand our service offer is to experience it, we deliver on what we promise!
